Just over a month since the purchase of Mackenzie Glass, form Pilkington the Bristol based glass merchant is ticking along very well thank you.
With new building and signpost signage up and lorries soon to be adorned with the new Mackenzie livery, there is a definite positive vibe in the air. Colleagues are embracing the inevitable changes that come with new ownership and training on the new office systems, amidst mountains of leftover Christmas chocolates and biscuits is being taken in their stride.
Production on the factory floor has seen some minor changes too and the prospect of investment into existing machinery and the reinvigoration of redundant machinery including the Bottero 810 Beveller, fills the purpose built factory with optimism for what lies ahead.
Joint directors Matt Prowse and Mark Herbert are contacting existing and potential customers sowing the seeds to grow relationships of trust as Mackenzie moves forward. The hope is that customers will come to regard Mackenzie as their preferred supplier for glass. As the first Pilkington Regional Partner Mackenzie has the support of Pilkington’s technical, product development, and extensive knowledge to share with its customers. More than a glass merchant, Mackenzie currently offers cutting, toughening, polishing and drilling processes for customers. Processing of customers own glass is also available but this carries a certain risk that comes with glass of unknown origin. Processing our own high-quality glass will always be a preference but Mackenzie is keen to realise the requirements of all its customers.
Matt Prowse joint Director says ” We are first and foremost suppliers of Pilkington Glass’ extensive range of market-leading glass products. What we can offer our customer though, as an independent merchant is the flexibility to source glass from other reputable industry glass suppliers, in response to market trends to ensure our customers receive consentient, supplies of their prefered product.” This is something new for the Bristol site who previously stocked Pilkington Glass exclusively.
“2018 has already seen deliveries to Devon, Cornwall, Wales and the Chanel Islands” reports joint Director, Mark Herbert. “With our distribution fleet and efficient ordering process, our customers can expect next day delivery on orders received before 3pm and that’s something Mackenzie is committed to continue offering.”
It’s going to be an exciting, challenging year for all at Mackenzie Glass and our colleagues are rising to the challenge to be the go to, Partners In Glass.
